    Confirms that the information in a document is true to the best of your knowledge. You’ll take an oath or make a solemn promise in front of the notary before signing. Often used for affidavits, sworn statements, and legal documents.

  • The notary watches you sign a document and verifies it was truly your signature. You must sign in front of the notary and present valid ID. Commonly used for contracts, agreements, and other important paperwork.

  • Allows another person to sign a document on your behalf in the notary’s presence. You’ll need to direct the notary to witness this act and provide valid identification. Often used when someone is unable to sign due to physical limitations.
